Earring Obsessed
According to philosopher and cultural theorist Jean Baudrillard,
“any collection comprises a succession of items, but the last in the set is the person of the collector…For what you really collect is always yourself.”
In my jewellery making practice, I find that making earrings is what I enjoy most. I have always been drawn to the process of creating small sculptures, and it is this medium that truly captures my passion.
My own eclectic collection includes pieces from various styles, historical periods, and artists. Reflecting on the words of Baudrillard, I feel that my collection represents the many different facets of myself.
