Beginner Basics Jewellery Making Workshop - Inner West - Sydney

This foundational jewellery beading class in Sydney’s Inner West is led by Christine Smalley, a local jewellery designer and passionate educator with over 25 years’ experience. Perfect for beginners, the workshop offers an accessible introduction to jewellery making, teaching the essential and foundational techniques of beaded jewellery design. It also makes the perfect Christmas gift for a creative.

The class is designed for all skill levels and is well suited to those who love wearing distinctive, handmade jewellery or is seeking a relaxed and inspiring creative experience to share with friends. Christine generously shares her industry knowledge  to DIY enthusiasts ready to take their skills further—whether you’re looking to build a collection to sell, explore the possibility of launching your own jewellery brand, or simply deepen your creative practice. 

Participants will learn the two most commonly used beading techniques through clear, step-by-step instruction, along with professional finishing tips and plenty of inspiration from an experienced local jewellery designer.

This class is set in a modern studio in the iconic Summer Hill Flour Mill, inner west of Sydney.

In this hands-on technique driven workshop you will:

- master the basic and essential beading techniques 

- learn professional finishing tips

- network industry contacts

- glean tips to start a creative label/business and where to sell your designs

You will make:

- one strung necklace using flex cable wire and clasp.

- one rosary style necklace i.e., linking beads together which is the perfect skill to learn if you love wearing earrings.

Participants will make two necklaces and two pair of earrings i.e., an illusion necklace and linked crystal necklace as well as simple drop earrings using Czech glass crystals.

All tools and materials will be provided, so you can simply focus on mastering techniques.

Plus, as a bonus, you'll receive a complimentary student participant pack filled with inspiration, design tips, and instruction sheets to help you continue your jewellery making journey at home with newfound confidence and skills.

Important note: The class requires a minimum of six participants to proceed. If you're planning a group outing or a corporate team-building activity, we can create a private group booking.
