Handmade Czech Aventurine Glass Bead Spool 13x9mm Black

These black spool lampwork glass beads are handmade in the Czech Republic. They are worked over a flame which is supplied by natural gas to generate the heat required to melt the glass. The process in which they are made is the same today as it was hundreds of years ago. The beads are decorated by “painting” trails and balls of molten glass from smaller canes to create unique pieces of art using gold stone (aventurine, which is a glass paste composed of copper powder) which gives a shimmering or inner sparkle appearance to the beads.
