Why Use Oval Rings?
The tension point is at either end of the oval and the opening is on the side which makes it more secure!

Using two pliers, hold the opened jump ring with the pliers in your dominant hand and with a small twist pull the other pliers towards you.
Never pull apart the ring as this will cause metal fatigue.
