Jump Ring Oval 4x6mm Raw Brass

Oval jumprings are metal connectors used to attach two components together in jewellery making. They are considered more secure than round jumprings because they open on the side, reducing stress on the gap, i.e., the tension point is at either end of the oval and the opening is on the side so it is more secure.

Opening & Closing Jump rings using two pliers, hold the opened jump ring When opening and closing them, ensure you twist them apart rather than pulling them apart to avoid misshaping the ring and weakening the metal. Use two pairs of flat pliers, gripping either side of the gap, with one pair of pliers in your dominant hand and with a small twist pull the other pliers towards you.
