Unusual and beautiful original vintage Swarovski lead crystal finds! The large SS45 10mm black crystal chatons have a sparkly cut surface. Chatons are not beads, they are undrilled stones and therefore do not have holes for sewing or threading. Commonly set in specialised jewellery cups, metal prongs, or custom cast cavities. Alternatively, invert and use the flat surface to adhere using a two-part epoxy like Araldite to an earring pad to make a stud earring or add to a brass blank or filigree to embellish, or embedded in jewellery polymer clays such as Fimo. Using Size 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads you can also create a custom, secure fit bezel for pointed-back Swarovski Crystal Chatons. The process involves forming a circle with seed beads, reinforcing it with a knot, and continuing the peyote pattern until you reach the necessary size. Peyote stitch is a bead weaving technique where beads are arranged in offset rows, just like brick stitch.
