Who doesn't have a stash of unworn and broken jewellery in their bottom drawer? Empty your jewellery drawers’ girls. It is time to transform your broken inherited and pre-loved jewels to create wearable jewellery or simply just make a one-off statement piece in our Sydney based studio. Thrift, revamping, reclaiming and recycling have become synonymous with craft in recent years. Reacting against the technological advances of the 21st century, ostentation is fading and bigger issues: sustainability, climate change, global poverty and ethical trading are becoming important. Give old jewellery a fresh lease of life and bring a vintage charm to your designs through an inspired use of beads and charms. Bring your own broken treasures and create something wearable. Plus, any unfinished projects you need advice on. You will also receive a repair kit in your choice of finish.

During the 2 1/2-hour class, you will learn:

  • How to make simple repairs to jewellery
  • Loads of finishing touches and professional tips
  • How to string beads on wire and finish off with a clasp
  • How to adjust the length of a necklace or bracelet
  • How to link charms and chain (linking is a technique used to make earrings, necklaces, bracelets and chokers)
